The ProPlus is a strong and effective weld cleaning machine that is best suitable to clean TIG (1-10mm) and MIG (1-5mm) stainless steel welds. Apart from weld cleaning, the machine is also capable to polish welds and surfaces, and can be upgraded to an effective marking machine for marking logos, numbers or any type of information onto stainless steel, aluminum, copper, titanium and more.
The intelligent electronics offers a user-friendly experience with easy manipulation and control over the weld cleaning process. The machine offers 50amps of power and can be adjusted in 5Amp increments. Cougartron specializes in stainless steel weld cleaning, passivation and surface treatment solutions. Their innovation lies in a relatively new electrochemical cleaning technology, which is faster and safer method compared to chemical pickling or mechanical grinding.
The electrolytic cleaning is a process by which post-weld impurities are removed by using electrical current, conductive brush and a specialized electrolyte fluid.
This is done for multiple reasons:
• To restore the protective passive layer of stainless steel,
• To increase the longevity and the corrosion-resistance of the metal surface after welding process (which destroys the passive layer of stainless steel and makes it more susceptible to corrosion). Two most common issues are rust and cross-contamination.
• To remove heat-tints, discoloration and other impurities from the surface – for visual and cosmetic reasons. (this is a requirement in many industries)
