Are you finding it difficult to recruit welders with required skills?

Can you prove your staff are competent?

Do your staff need extra training?

Would you like your welders coded?

We offer fast track training from basic start up to advanced level.

Coding to:

BS EN 150 9606

BS 4872

BS EN ISO 15614-1 2004

ASME IX

BS ISO 24394

BS ISO 24394 is the international standard with mandatory Job Knowledge which will be adopted by all those involved in aerospace and serve as a common denominator, eventually replacing many varied weld/welder tests used by differing countries and companies.

Training can take place on site, at your works or at our training facility.

For 20 Years West Country Welding Supplies Limited have supplied plant and equipment to the welding industry.

NOW we can offer material analysis, hardness testing and welder training.

This can be specifically designed to suit your organisation, ensuring every member of your staff develops the skills to carry out welding tasks competently and to the required standard, thus satisfying both your customers and insurance company.

Initial Assessment:

Prior to training taking place, prospective clients are offered an on-site visit from one of our trainers. If required, this initial assessment visit is provided free of charge (a nominal cost may be required for materials and/or consumables), and is designed to establish the level of practical ability of the welder(s) to be trained and/or tested, and to establish the most suitable procedures.

From this assessment a realistic cost effective training programme can then be provided to suit the clients needs.

In some instances those who are able to show Proof of Competency may dispense with a full training programme and work immediately towards the selected Weld Procedure or Welder Approval test.

Training 2

Training Programme:

As described above, the required training programme will be determined by the initial assessment and/or consultation with the company and/or individual.

The programme will be designed to bring the candidate(s) up to the required standard to take a Welder Assessment test (Coding), and will depend on the candidate(s) experience and welding ability, and the process and consumables used.

Training and testing costs will be agreed prior to the training taking place, and will be dependent on duration and Codings required.

All prices quoted include Certification and Laboratory fees and transportation of test samples

Welder Testing:

Our qualified welding instructor will carry out welder assessment testing to the required standard. This can be at your premises or off-site.

Codings offered include: BS EN 287, BS EN ISO 9606, ASME IX, BS 4872, BS 1140 Spot Welding, BS 24394, and many more, with accompanying Weld Procedures where required.

Supervision of tests will be by qualified personnel.

Successful candidates will receive the appropriate Certification issued, which will include a numerically linked, independent third party UKAS and European approved weld test laboratory report.

Welding procedures can also be constructed in consultation with a company or individual which incorporate the best practice to suit the working situation.

Responsible Welding Co-Ordinator:

The role of Responsible Welding Co-Ordinator (RWC) is to ensure that all welding operations carried out under his/her control are executed in manner which meet the requirements of the customer.

To expand on the above statement, Weld Procedure and Welder Qualification have a very broad scope in terms of specific requirement. This can be in material, weld process, material thickness, filler material and weld position. All Weld Procedures and Welder Qualification will have third party, independent accredited testing requirements to meet the customer specification.

It is the responsibility of the RWC to ensure that all of the above criteria are met and therefore, the RWC should be suitably trained to carry out the above operations.
