- One piece unit
- Very high accuracy
- Analogue output to monitor force cycle via external device if required.
To expand their range of resistance welder electrode force gauges, Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited has introduced this swivel head unit for accessing difficult to reach monitoring situations.
New European standards are showing the resistance welding specialist that he needs to have a qualified and accurate monitoring source for resistance welder electrode force, also that a welding procedure is needed which can be monitored in all respects.
Electrode force is one of the critical parameters in obtaining repeatable, reliable resistance spot welds.
Force can vary because of changing factory air pressure, water in the air lines causing air cylinders to deteriorate and loss of air pressure due to worn seals.
To improve quality control, ease inspection and for regular calibration of resistance welding machines in difficult to access positions, Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited offers their Testweld™ Swivel Head Electrode Force Gauge for measuring resistance welder electrode force.
This self contained instrument uses a cell with a force sensor to provide accurate digital read out for auditing weld electrode forces.
Accuracy of this instrument is better than 0.2% and can be supplied to read 0-1000kg, 0-1999lbs or 0-10Kn.
The swivel head moves ±72º up or down and rotates ±90º. Once the desired position is reached it can be fixed by a simple hand tightened knob. A 90 mm long handle is provided for optional use.
The handle is in the same axis as the gauge so that in the event of misaligned electrodes twisting the gauge, it is unlikely to cause injury.
A cord is attached to the gauge so that in the event that it is forced out of the operators hand by misaligned electrodes, it need not fall to the floor and be damaged.
As with all welding procedures, it is important to eliminate as many variables as possible in order to achieve optimum welding consistently over long periods.
The resistance welder electrode force gauge allows electrode force to be measured as often as necessary to ensure that this variable stays within tolerance, thereby eliminating another troublesome factor in obtaining weld repeatability.
The weld force is displayed on a digital display on the top of the instrument body. The device has 2 modes, tracking mode in which the unit will display exactly what load is being applied and peak hold where the unit will report the peak force of a load test. This unit has a voltage output which can be linked to a recorder and comes complete with a battery charger with a 110/240 volt input for its internal nickel hydride battery. The unit weighs only 1075 gms.
