Ceramic Backing Bars
Economic advantages
- No gouging, grinding and reworking of the weld root.
- Full penetration joints without turning over the workpiece.
- High deposition rate processes can be used for the first pass.
- Simplified bevelling through the elimination of root faces.
Application
- Using KERAL backing does not require any special preparation, except that the surfaces to which the adhesive tape is applied must be free of grease, oil and loose rust.
- The sections overlap : the assembly is sealed by overlapping the adhesive tape from each section to the next.
KERAL 01
Semi-porous type.
Compact ceramic at very low moisture pick up (< 0,5 %).
A middle fusion point allowing an optimal use at low and medium current (80 to 250 A).
KERAL 02, KERAL 03, KERAL 05, KERAL 07, KERAL R
Hyper compact ceramic with low moisture pick up (< 0,1 %).
High fusion point allowing the use of a very high welding current.
Example : MIG-MAG, flux cored wire and submerged arc (200 to 400 A).
KERAL 07 S
Fibre-glass complex and powder ceramic.
Enables an extreme flexibility.
Low fusion point allowing a very good penetration even with low welding current.
Example : TIG (80 to 200 A).
KERAL F
Braided fibre-glass band.
Permits an extreme flexibility.
Low fusion point allowing a very good penetration even with low welding current.
Example : TIG (80 to 200 A).
